On Ground that’s No Good

1917

I made a great mistake in Burley. I rented a piece of ground and started to farm on a very small scale, and the ground was no good. I was unable to get water on it, and good men did the same thing, broke up in the business and ran in debt.

I broke up entirely in Burley so I left and went to Salt Lake City and got employment on the U.L. Co. Salt Lake street car line, on the section work. That went all right as long as it lasted.
